Study of correlation of hypothyroidism with diabetic microvascular complications in type 2 diabetic adult Indian females

Background: Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus are more prone to thyroid disorders. Hypothyroidism in them leads an aggravation of microvascular complications. Screening for dysfunction diabetic patients will allow early treatment hypothyroidism. The aim this study is assess the correlation hypothyroidism Methods: This a cross‑sectional that was conducted at department medicine GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. 200 female attending out‑patient were included. Subjects any prior history disease, chronic liver or acute illness excluded from study. Results: Our describes 14% prevalence (subclinical 13.5%) among subjects. Among hypothyroid 64.29% had nephropathy, 60.71% neuropathy, retinopathy whereas euthyroid 26.74%, 25% and 29.07% respectively. Conclusions: Overt 0.5 % subclinical common (13.5%) having likely be retinopathy.
